I was born and raised in Luxembourg. Alongside my formal education, I earned several degrees in fencing, sports, and information technology from prestigious institutions in Paris, Cologne, and Liverpool.
My journey in fencing took me to some of the top clubs, like Levallois in France and Tauberbischofsheim in Germany. There, I had the privilege of working with some of the greatest contemporary coaches. Some were my mentors and educators, others I observed closely, and many became friends. These experiences provided me with deep insights into fencing and a realization that there are many perspectives and truths in the sport.
Professionally, I serve as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Luxembourg’s public radio.
I started fencing at the age of 8, alongside other sports like Judo, athletics, and volleyball. Fencing quickly became my primary passion.
Politically, I have held various positions within Luxembourg’s National Fencing Federation (FLE) since 1986. In 2010, I was elected President of the FLE. In 2021, I stepped down to avoid any conflicts of interest with my international career.
Internationally, I joined the EFC SEMI Commission in 2009 and worked on numerous equipment-related projects. In 2013, I was elected to the EFC COMEX and appointed Chairman of the EFC SEMI Commission, where I developed various training and mentoring programs.
I also spearheaded general projects, such as securing Microsoft as a sponsor for the EFC’s email and virtual communication needs, updating the statutes to align with FIE statutes, and redesigning the EFC website.
In 2016, I transitioned from the EFC to the FIE COMEX to avoid holding dual mandates. Despite this, I continued supporting key EFC projects and remained active in global initiatives in countries like Algeria, Kenya, Pakistan, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia.
In 2022, I strategically aligned with Giorgio Scarso during the elections in Warsaw, prioritizing the broader interest over personal ambition. From 2024 onwards, I have served as Strategic Director responsible for external affairs and as a consultant to Giorgio Scarso.
Below are some of the projects I have worked on:
